Pump or gravity fed 3 bay filter system and combined vortex for koi ponds up to 2000 gallons.
A four stage filter designed for use on koi ponds. Made from high quality GRP fibre glass for the professional koi keeper. Consists of 1st stage vortex chamber, 2nd stage brush chamber, 3rd stage matting cartridge chamber, 4th stage bio flow plastic media and three layer filter foam set chamber. In each of the filter bays the media is supported by a grid which leaves a v shaped settlement space for all of the worst of the detrius that will accumulate in any pond filter. This detrius can easily be purged away via the fitted discharge valves. The filter comes with three 1 1/2" discharge valves for easy cleaning. On pump fed models the inlet is 1 1/2", the outlet is 2" as standard. On gravity fed models the inlet is 4", the outlet is 1 1/2" as standard. In our experience any vortex filter will work more efficiently on gravity fed systems than pump fed systems due to the pressure of the water comming into the vortex from your pond. On pump fed systems the vortex can spin too quickly, thus reducing its efficiency. Please note these filters are manufactured by Manor koi so there is always a degree of flexibility regarding the positions and sizes of the inlets, outlets, and discharges.
